Having discovered music (playing piano and clarinett) at an age of 11 Johan Riedenlow gradually moved more and more towards Jazz. Playing saxophone at thousands of venues and taking private lessons in his early years he also got a formal musical education in Jazz and Improvisation from the Skurup Folkhögskola graduating 2005. Just to name a few of his teachers throughout the years; Gretchen Parlato & Mark Guiliana, Steve Gadd, Karl-Martin Almqvist, Fredrik Kronqvist, Steve Coleman, Gary Thomas, Airto Moreira, Göran Schelin, Ambrose Akinmusire, Tony Scherr, Eddie Gomez, Maggi Olin, Sören Möller and so on.
